While we wonder how much risks and sacrifice these special people had to give to achieve such fete, we need to ask ourselves; today, what we have achieved in our 30s.
Mike Adenuga junior was born April 29, 1953 in Ibadan, Nigeria, his full names are Micheal Adeniyi Agbolade Ishola Adenuga. He is a Nigerian business tycoon.
He is regarded as one of the richest black people in the world. He is a man with humble beginning; he had his secondary school education at Ibadan grammar school Oyo state.
He worked tirelessly as a taxi driver and security guard to backup his education while studying at the university. Mike pooled resources together and started Equitorial Trust Bank Ltd at only age 37 and the rest is history. And also the CEO of GLO unlimited.
Fola Adeola was born in January, 1954. He completed his secondary school education at Methodist Boys High School, Lagos. He obtained a Diploma in Accounting from Yaba College of Technology in 1975 and became a chattered accountant in 1980 followinh his training with Deloitte, Haskins and Sells and D.O. Dafinone & Company (both Chatered Accountants)
In 1990, he(together with Tayo Aderinokun) established Guaranty Trust Bank at the age of 36.
Jim Ovia was born on November 5, 1951, at Agbor in the Delta State of Nigeria.
He schooled at Southern University Louisiana, where he obtained a B.Sc in Business Administration in the year 1977.
He then proceeded to the North East Louisiana University, where he obtained a Masters Degree in Business Administration in 1979.
He also did an executive Management Program in the Harvard Business School. He founded Zenith Bank in 1990 at the age of 39 was the CEO till 2010.
Erastus Akingbola was born on October 26, 1950, he is a well known Nigerian banker. Akingbola rubbed minds together with three other friends to form the Nigerian Intercontinental Merchant Bank Limited (NIMBL).
At age 38, Akingbola was given the mandate to head the bank. That of course made him the youngest CEO. They started intercontinental Bank, using their personal cars and furnishing the offices with chairs bought from their houses. with one office, 31 staff and a capital of N7m they built the bank to what it is today.
